Here’s a slice of psychedelic funk from the Funkadelic’s 1976 release Tales of Kidd Funk album. Apparently the cuts from this album were throw-aways from the Hardcore Jollies recording sessions that George Clinton submitted to Westbound Records to fulfill contractual obligations. Although not their best work, I always thought this was an under-rated set and just so damn funky. On this tune, those spooky background vocals (creatively sampled by Blackmoon in 1999) bring it all together for me.
