Terra and Dov’s wedding at the Howard County Conservancy

Outdoor wedding ceremonies are always a crap shoot so what a joy it was to have sunny skies, low humidity and zero chance of rain for Terra and Dov’s Sunday nuptials at the Howard County Conservancy. The conservancy is a truly gorgeous spot that seems farther out in the country than it really is (its a pretty short drive from Baltimore).

The ceremony finished with Billy Bragg and Wilco’s “Hesitating Beauty.” Folks headed up the gravel path to the garden for the cocktail hour. Music there included tracks from John Lee Hooker, Professor Longhair, King Curtis, Bob Dylan, Otis Redding, and Nina Simone.

The wedding party then moved inside for the dinner and reception although folks were outside quite a bit during the evening enjoying the lovely grounds.

The real fun (for this DJ at least) began after dinner. The couple provided a very eclectic playlist for the DJ to work with, it went from classic country (David Allan Coe), current dance (Pitbull, Rihanna, and Katy Perry), classic rock (AC/DC), 80’s (Billy Idol) hip-hop (Naughty by Nature), current pop (Florence + the Machine) and a classic Horah which had the entire crowd up on their feet (and Terra and Dov up on their chairs). The Horah was one of many highlights of the night. The night finished with Tammy Wynette’s signature hit “Stand by Your Man.”
