Song of the Day: Pale Saints “Sight of You”

Pale-SaintsI really enjoy those occurences when I buy a record without previewing it, or having heard songs prior, and am completely blown away at first listen.  One such instance happened sometime during 1990 when I picked up The Comforts of Madness by Pale Saints.  It was one of my first forays into the sound known as Dream Pop.

I fell in love with “Sight of You,” arguably the stand-out track.  The guitar sound on the track reminded me of Jim and William Reid’s guitar work on The Jesus and Mary Chain’s 1985 Psychocandy, one of my all-time favorite albums.

Give “Sight of You” a few listens.  It’s sure to bring out the shoegazer in you.
