Emily and Justin’s wedding at Sotterley Plantation

While rain was in the forecast, Emily and Justin tied the knot on a blissful spring day at the beautiful Sotterley Plantation in Hollywood, Maryland.

After the union was official, cocktail hour concluded, and guests filed into the reception tent from the cocktail hour barn, I started spinning a mix of modern and classic as the newlyweds, their friends, and their families dined on a beautiful seasonal meal food from Southern Maryland’s Canard’s Catering. The soundtrack included selections from Frank Sinatra, Graffiti6, and Van Morrison.

Following some very heartwarming and hilarious speeches from the best man, parents, and friends, it was time for folks to hit the dance floor. And they danced the entire night! The biggest hits were Robyn “Dancing on My Own,” Michael Jackson Man in the Mirror, Daft Punk “Get Lucky,” and Robin Thicke “Blurred Lines.” An after-last call dance-off also went down to some Sly and the Family Stone.

Just as we were leaving, the rain started pouring down… making for a wet drive home. Better that than a wet wedding!
