For two years my crew has had a blast mining all of the sweet dance classics and pop from the ’80s that get left out of the ’80s party canon. We like to classify them as Jheri Curl Funk, Champagne Soul and Lazer Boogie.

For our first anniversary, we put together an all-star cast of musicians to perform covers of these great songs. In homage to Eddie Murphy’s turn as Randy Watson in Coming To America, we named the band Sexual Chocolate. It was such a blast that we had to do it again this year.
