I know its Super Bowl TUESDAY now but I had to post this (semi) lost classic from LA’s mighty Ozomatli. This track, called “Super Bowl Sundae” was on their self-titled debut album which dropped in 1998. Ozomatli (which is still together) is a multi-ethnic band that mixes hip-hop, cumbia, salsa, funk, and everything else in their special musical blender. They have DJ’s, percussionists, rappers and a horn section and really need to be heard live to be appreciated.

I had the pleasure of seeing them at Watts Towers in LA back in 2000 where they tore it up and finished the show by parading through the crowd (something they do at most shows). The clip here is from Jools Holland’s Live Later tv show.
